Hello everyone and welcome! I hope you are looking forward to the project that I have in store for you today!
Our theme was a Quick Advent Calendar and when I heard that, I immediately took my inspiration from the holiday catalogue! Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy for us to design super cute projects and I can’t wait to show you what I came up with.
Using the Tags and Trimmings bundle, I created a set of four stockings that would be perfect for little treats, chocolates or even gift cards! You could place a goody inside each of them and hang it on the mantle, or place them on a mini Christmas tree!
Okay, so let’s get started!
Using the Tag’s and Trimming thinlits, you will want to cut out one pocket and one stocking. I used Whisper White and Pool Party cardstock to design my four stockings.
There are so many cute pieces to the thinlits set, that I cut them all out so that you could see what they all looked like. I love the stitched details on the heart, star, bell and stocking feet! Super cute detail!
Cut out the cuff of the stocking for the top, the heel, the foot the garland, and the snowflake.
Depending on how many stockings you create, will determine how many you cut out.
I did a goal of four each, and I used silver glimmer paper, and silver foil sheets for the cuffs, heels, snowflakes and feet, and then for the garland I cut out two in Whisper White, and two in Pool Party.
Using the Cable Knit Embossing folder and the Big Shot, I pressed the stockings to create the pattern on the front.
Once you have pressed your stocking piece, you will want to fold on all of the scored lines.
I used my bone folder to gently break the fibres so that the paper didn’t crease.
Using tear tape, I applied it onto the two sides of the pocket piece.
Once this is done, line up your stocking piece along side the top of the pocket piece, and join them together.
Then flip the pocket piece over and adhere the other sides together. Your stocking is now attached on both sides.
Apply some tear tape to the little flap at the bottom of the pocket piece.
Gently squeeze the sides of the stocking so that the top and bottom pop open.
Carefully tuck the bottom flap inside of the stocking, and then close the bottom edge.
Using a bone folder, I went in through the top of the stocking and gently pressed down on the flap to make sure it was completely flat inside. Then close up the two top flaps.
Using Tombo glue, I adhered the cuff to the top of the stocking.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the heel, the foot the garland and the snowflake onto the stocking.
Using the Large Number Thinlits and the Big Shot, I cut out the numbers 1 through 5 and using Dimensionals adhered them to the back of the stockings.
Once all of the pieces were put together, I finished them off by using our clear faceted gems in the centre of the snowflakes! You can never have too much sparkle!
