Thinking Outside of the Box Blog Hop – Mini Folded Gift Box

The newest project for Thinking Outside the Box Blog hop is a super cute mini folded box. I created the template, and it is such a simple box to create, but it will pack a big punch! You could use it for a hostess gift, a jewelry box, or filled with some yummy treats!

I also wanted to showcase the current medley Everything is Rosy. I am loving the fact that Stampin Up came up with this beautiful suite of products and it is currently available until the end of the month.

Step 1

You will need a sheet of Whisper White cardstock and you will cut it down to 6” x 6 ⅞”

You will score on the 6” side at 1” and at 5”. Turn the paper and score on the 6 ⅞” side at 1”, 5” and 6”. See photo to see where to create your tabs. This will become the insert of the box.

Fold along all of your scored lines and glue the flaps to the inside of each insert. Once all of the tabs have been glued down, fold the last piece over the tabs and glue this down. Your insert is now completed.

Step 2

You will need a sheet of 12 x 12 Night of Navy cardstock and you will cut it down to 4 ½” x 12”

You will scor on the 12” side at 3”, 4”, 8 ⅛” and 9 ⅛”.

This will become the outside of your box. Fold along all of the scored lines and glue down the insert to the bottom of the long flap.

Once you have glued down the insert of the box, you will want to place your magnets down as these will hold your box closed. See photos for placement of magnets.

Important to note: you will want to make sure that you glue your magnets down BEFORE you add your front panel.

Step 3

You will cut a piece of the Rose Gold Foil at 4 ¼” x 4 ⅛”. This will be the first mat for the top of the box to create a flap.

Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock at 3 ¾” x 3 ⅝”

Cut a piece of Designers Series Paper at 3 ⅝” x 3 ½”

Adhere the Night of Navy cardstock to the Rose Gold foil. Adhere the Designers Series Paper to the Night of Navy cardstock and your panel is now complete.

Step 4

Using the stamp set from the Everything Rosy suite, I stamped it into one of the diecut labels that are included in the kit. I also used one of the floral die cuts, and I sponged around the edges in Blushing Bride just to soften the look of the flowers. Using dimensionals I popped up the sentiment and flowers onto the front of the box.

Sweet and simple, I hope that you will give this little gift box a try!
